The Loire region is not only famous for its castles, culture and history, it also known as “the garden of France”. This is where the French "savoir vivre" is at its best. Strawberries, asparagus, truffles, saffron, spring vegetables, fruit – and of course wine grapes – are all grown in this fertile area and excellent goats cheeses are produced too. The nearest cheese maker is only a few kilometres from our house.

You can sample many of those delights at La Closerie Saint Martin, at breakfast time with our homemade jams and marmalade, local apple juice, fresh fruit and local yoghurt and cheese or at dinner, where we cook a four course menu with fresh, local and seasonal produce.

And while you are out and about, why not visit a farmers market, a winemaker or an artisan cheese maker to stock up for your picnic or to bring home a truly unique souvenir from the Valley of the Kings.

Breakfast

Start the day with a delicious and generous Continental breakfast: crusty bread and fresh croissants, homemade jams and marmalade, local cheese, cold meat, boiled eggs, fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt from a local producer, muesli, homemade cake and a choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Coming back from a day of sightseeing and discoveries, there is nothing better than to park your car and join us and the other guests at the ready-laid table for a delicious regional and seasonal four course dinner. No need to drive anywhere, just relax, chat, taste and enjoy. This is what the French table d’hôtes is all about.
